JOB DETAILS:
POSITION: Academic Staff Lecturer Social Work, Department of Human Behavior, Justice and Diversity
DUTIES:
Instruction of 12 credits or their equivalent per semester in social work field as well as in any of the additional four curriculum areas: H.B.S.E., policy, research, and methods-practice
Student advisement to meet accreditation requirements and serve increasing numbers of social work advisees to meet the CSWE requirement (1 faculty; 25 advisees)
Program development and maintenance, including travel to community and tribal colleges for the purposes of teaching, advisement and recruitment
Service ot the University, including departmental meetings and social work program work
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
An earned M.S.W. or M.S.S.W. from an accredited social work program and a minimum of two years post masters social work practice experience
Experience teaching in a post-secondary education institution
Must be licensed/certified, as a social worker, by July 1st 2014.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Willingness to engage in community partnership and program development
Demonstrated familiarity with social work practice with American Indians and knowledge of the contributions of women and other minorities to the disciplines
Experience teaching at least 2 courses in a post-secondary education institution
Familiarity with the generalist, ecological and ethnic-sensitive models of social work practice
Demonstrated flexibility and experience with teaching as many as possible of the four areas of the social work curriculum (H.B.S.E., policy, research and methods-practice)
Ability to serve as field liaison
Practice experience with individuals, families and groups
Experience with field instruction and/or agency supervision
